Live sports streaming is one of the most demanding infrastructure challenges in digital media. Unlike on-demand content, live events create simultaneous, unpredictable traffic spikes: millions of subscribers tune in at once, across dozens of time zones, for events that cannot be delayed or buffered. For DAZN, operating in 200+ countries with programming rights spanning major European football, boxing, baseball, and more, the infrastructure requirements were not just demanding. They were uncompromising.
DAZN needed a partner who could manage and evolve their AWS infrastructure to handle this complexity, implementing live-streaming load balancing, building global notification systems that reached every subscriber in every time zone, optimizing video and advertising storage and delivery, and developing new sports gaming features on top of a platform that could not afford downtime.

The Solution

A global notification system was built to reach subscribers across all regions and time zones with event alerts, personalized content recommendations, and platform communications.
AWS S3 integration for video and advertisement storage was optimized for both upload efficiency and global delivery performance. New front-end modules were built in Next.js, including live streaming functionality and advertising integration, extending the platform’s capabilities without disrupting existing services.
